Made of Honor

I saw this movie yesterday, and I think there´s supposed to be a joke in the title, but I don´t think I get it. It has a kind of start like Monica Geller and Chandler Bing, of "Friends", with a couple who meet each other by accident and as time goes by they become friends, they know almost everything about the other, until the girl has a job opportunity in Scotland and comes back engaged. Of course that reminded me of "My Best Friend´s Wedding", without the whole evil planning that Julia Robert does, but by pretending to be the best male "maid of honor" he could ever be.
I think that if it wasn´t for Patrick Dempsey, who is a good looking guy, I don´t think the movie is that good. The absolutely perfect groom, who´s Scottish and is a duke and has all these family traditions, that they just can´t seem to let go from like the 1200s give or take, that can shoot and kill everything and wins every game. Could it be a little bit more cliché!
And by the time things start to get better for the leading man and his best friend, she gets scared and prefers to marry the other guy because of whatever reason she can find as she doesn´t really know her true feelings.
Another thing that really drove me insane was Patrick Dempsey´s father figure in the movie, who marries one woman after another and is still working on the prenuptial agreements when the bride is supposed to be at the door of the church. Seen too many of those kind.
Want to see a romantic movie that is different from all the rest. Sometimes a couple of them come along and the rest just simply follow a pattern that gets boring and you know exactly what´s going to happen in the end without hesitation.
I was also really excited about seeing "The Hobbit" by Peter Jackson, but the moment that I heard that it was split into three parts when the book is way smaller than the "Lord of the Rings", I lost complete interest. Hopefully the next one I´ll go see will be more interesting.
