End of the World Party

It was just another regular day, with the "End of the World" phrase moving all over the place. Baked some cakes in the afternoon and then helped my mother with a couple of things because my brother Cristóbal and Ligia, Benji and Francesca, were coming to my house.
I did some rucula and basil with salmon wraps (little ones) and placed them on a fish-shaped dish. Helped my sister Fernanda who was trying to do falafels with fava beans for the first time and it didn´t came as easily as Jaime Oliver´s version.
We had celery, tomato and mushrooms with three dips to choose from (avocado, humus and paprika, cream cheese); roasted nuts with raisins; goat cheese, falafels, potato chips and olives; cherries, raspberries and "alfajores"(Chilean dessert). For drinks we had a choice of wine, soft drinks and beer. And all of these was just eaten with our fingers.
The guests arrived around ten-thirty, served ourselves with something to drink and just started having fun. Benji was telling us about all the people that he had been dining with for the last couple of days, he talked about his job, our big family, and anything else he shared with the others. I spent most of the night talking to Francesca...one of them being about food with good music on the background and all laughing and telling stories.
And yes, we were all waiting for the world coming to an end....but guess, nothing happened. Talked a lot about the pouring rain we had on Wednesday, that caused total chaos for eight hours in the streets of Santiago (but then we wouldn´t have seen the mountains with snow again), and we are supposed to be in summer....though we all agreed that it surprised us all. And we were all family, so it was a very good place to be at last night.
