When you go to a restaurant, you have certain expectations regarding the waiter. And every once in a while, you get one that just drives you insane because he or she has no idea what he/her is doing. That´s what happened to me today.
My mom invited me and some of her friends to eat at a very good restaurant in a fisherman´s village with a very beautiful blue beach. We had a nice table and there we were, all five of us until a waitress appeared. Each one of us asked for an empanada (a fried dough with seafood and/or cheese filling). We ordered our drinks and we waited for our first dish. My mom´s was one of the three that arrived first and she cut it in half and she discovered that her seafood (I think it´s called abalone in english) empanada had cheese when she didn´t ask for it, so she told the waitress and therefore, the three empanadas were sent back to the kitchen.
A couple of minutes passed before mine came, and it was ok. In the mean time, the waitress said that only second course was ready before the empanadas, so we ate them and the other empanadas arrived later.
Then about ten minutes after we had finished she took our plates and she took our orders for dessert and herbal tea. She dissapeared for like what seemed an eternity, and she brought one dessert that was just what we ordered. Two of us asked for papaya and one of them came with cream. Nobody had asked for cream and she had written our orders. What a nightmare!
Then another while for the herbal teas and forever for the bill. So overall, the restaurant was a 10, but the waitress was like a 2. Could it be that she was new and unprepared? Perhaps, but you still end up hoping that you get a very different waiter or waitress next time so that it doesn´t ruin the complete experience.
Hoping to hear your opinions about it, see you.
