I went to the movies last weekend with my mom, and we choose this italian movie that basically is about a woman who takes a girl of about 1 1/2- 2 years old to her house because she has been left alone at the park. Inside, you find her husband and a 14 year old boy who treats the little girl, Asia, like his sister. And they move around what seems to be a decaying circus.
It shows us how hard those lives are and what they do to make them better, to adjust to the circumstances, with absolutely no clue about what is going to happen next and that leaves you wondering what might happen.
A simple, worth-watching movie, almost like a documentary that tells us a little bit about "la pivellina", this little girl that changes the life of the people that take her in, for better or worse because they know they will have to give her away at the end, and the constant fear of her mother coming back to claim her.
Bitter-sweet and amiable characters that makes me wonder why we don´t get to see a lot of these movies instead of just the blockbusters... and then you understand, it´s a different kind of movie. It´s about getting you to see different lives through the eyes of normal people.
Absolutely amazing, if you get a chance to see it, do it
